TRADITIONAL TOURISM CITY TOUR OLLANTAYTAMBO
Ollantaytambo in the Inca era was a very important fortified city, built as a "tanpu", it also served to facilitate control of the roads to the "Antisuyo" (jungle) and according to historians it also served to facilitate the protection of the great Inca capital. from the attacks of the "Antis" who were their worst enemies. Today its name has been generalized as "fortress", an inappropriate name because not only did it have a warlike or protective function, but it was also a complete city with a main square, temples, urban and agricultural sector. Ollantaytambo was surrounded by a wall that had very little income, several Pukaras and strategically located watchtowers.

The valley area between Pisac and Ollantaytambo is known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas. On this tour we will pass through the mountains until we reach the “Sacred Valley of the Incas” - which had great significance in the Inca culture. The Valley has a milder climate than Cusco and we will see a series of picturesque towns, agricultural terraces and many archaeological sites. This tour is the “Traditional” or Classic tour, designed to see the entire Sacred Valley in a single action-packed day! If you have more time, we recommend spending the night in the Sacred Valley (we recommend either Ollantaytambo or Urubamba) so you can take in some of the relaxed atmosphere.
